speaking of ear ringing...I recall many times (I went to see every and anybody) waking up the next morning and there was a siren going off in my head. Not sure how I avoided serious ear damage. I now have very slight tinnitus, but my audiologist says I still have 30% above normal hearing. Only 2 or 3 GD shows rattled my ear drums (Reno in '82 I felt something POP - could have been my brain). But in the final days I used earplugs for drums and space. I recreationally play music, and it can get quite loud at times (that's why I stick with a 35watt Fender tweed super so I can't get too loud).

Just added today:

This was a loud LOUD GD show!! This post was modified by ColdRain108 on 2020-03-22 23:49:40

Speaking of ear ringing......saw Blue Cheer at this little place called Western Front in Sept. of '67. They were fully amped, stacked, and the drums nailed to the floor. It was the most god-awful din I'd/I've ever heard, until I laid flat on the floor, and suddenly it became an acceptable level of sound. Up until that point it was all one note/one chord/one beat.
